Social Security
Technically, social security is paid by every employed person in Spain. This is, however, retained from the employee’s monthly pay slip by the company he or she works for. The company is responsible for making the social security payments to the local social security office one month after they have been retained, otherwise they are subject to a 20% penalty charge.
Social security is calculated on the basis of many factors, including age, gender, marital status, number of children and more, which your gestoria will be able to compute.
The benefits of social security to an employer are contributions towards sick leave pay, maternity pay, redundancy and more. For details, please contact one of our advisors.
